Check a company right in ChatGPT and Claude: connecting Apino

How to connect Apino to Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code or Cursor so the assistant answers about Slovak and Czech companies from the registers, not from the web. What it can do, what it costs and how to disconnect it.

Checked against: Apino MCP server, September 2026

In brief

  • Apino connects to AI assistants over the Model Context Protocol (MCP) at https://api.apino.sk/mcp.
  • The assistant then answers about a company from the registers — the RPO, the Financial Administration's lists, the Register of Financial Statements and the Peppol network — instead of from what it finds on the web.
  • Claude and ChatGPT connect by signing in to Apino, with no key to copy; Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code with an API key.
  • Every lookup the assistant makes is one request from your plan; checking a list of up to 100 companies is one as well.

Ask ChatGPT or Claude about a company and the answer is usually assembled from the web — directories, old articles, sometimes a different company with a similar name. When the question is whether a customer is a VAT payer or will accept an e-invoice from January, that matters. With Apino connected, the assistant asks the register instead and answers from it, with the date the data is current as of.

What the assistant can do

  • Find a company by name and return its IČO — Slovak or Czech.
  • Read a company's record: legal form, address, statutory bodies, shareholders, business activities, establishment and dissolution.
  • Check whether a company is a VAT payer, under which paragraph it is registered, and its tax reliability index.
  • Find out whether a company can receive a Peppol e-invoice — and whether it could be checked at all.
  • Check a whole list, up to 100 IČO at once: VAT payer, reliability, Peppol.
  • Show a company's history of changes and which financial statements it filed, and when.

The assistant only reads. It cannot see your account, billing, API keys or watchlists, and cannot change anything.

Connecting Claude and ChatGPT

In the assistant's connector settings, add a custom connector with the address https://api.apino.sk/mcp. Nothing else is needed. The assistant sends you to sign in to Apino and then to a page that shows what it will be allowed to do, where you approve the connection.

Connecting Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code

Developer tools connect with an API key you create in the dashboard. In Claude Code it is one command: claude mcp add --transport http apino https://api.apino.sk/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer apino_…". In Cursor and VS Code, add a server with the address https://api.apino.sk/mcp and the header Authorization: Bearer apino_… to mcp.json.

What it costs

  • Every lookup the assistant makes counts as one request against your plan's monthly allowance, the same as an API call.
  • Checking a list of up to 100 companies is one request. For a customer list, that is the difference between one request and a hundred.
  • Connecting, and the assistant finding out what it can do, is not counted.
  • When the allowance runs out, the assistant says so, with the date it resets.

Disconnecting

A connected assistant appears in the dashboard among your API keys as "AI: assistant name", with its usage. Disconnect it there and the assistant loses access at once; to use it again, approve the connection once more.

What happens to the data

We keep your consent, the assistant's name and its access tokens; for each lookup we record which tool was used and when, but not what the assistant asked about. What the assistant looks up goes, at your direction, to its operator — Anthropic or OpenAI, for example — under that operator's own terms. The details and retention periods are in the privacy policy.
